Anton Lazarovich Baklanov (Russian: Антон Лазарович Бакланов) is a scientist who was involved in the Stealth Program. A Jew, he immigrated to the US in the early 70's. Baklanov contributed in the development of stealth technology.
Baklanov is married and has a 13-year old son, Jacob. He also had a mistress, whom Philip referred to as being "well trained."
In 1982, the Center ordered the Jennings to abduct Baklanov in order to bring him back to the USSR. The abduction attempt was not successful. Instead Philip and Elizabeth kidnapped a Mossad agent, who was later traded for Baklanov.
Baklanov was forcibly brought to Russia to help the USSR develop their own stealth technology at a Soviet research facility. Nina was sent to spy on him but instead befriends him, ultimately sacrificing her own future in an attempt to get word to Jacob that his father was still alive.
