Biography[]
Elizabeth, disguised as "Brenda Neill", meets him at a health food store in Topeka, Kansas. They have dinner together and end up sleeping with one another. She later discovers that he is also having an affair with another woman in Memphis.
The KGB initially suspects that Ben is involved in a plot to destroy the Soviet grain supply. However, Elizabeth ultimately determines that the opposite is true, he is attempting to breed a strain of "super wheat," in order to help countries that regularly experience famine.
