Glenn Haskard is a member of the US State Department nuclear weapon negotiating team. He is married to Erica, who is dying of a painful, terminal disease. The KGB spy on him through the use of Erica's home health nurses, who are Elizabeth and Marilyn in disguise.
At some point in his career, Glenn was stationed in Japan. He and his wife are baseball fans, particularly of the Minnesota Twins.
