Lewis Rendell was a truck driver for Bracey Septic which serviced the training camp used by the US military to train Nicaraguan Contras. He is kidnapped by a disguised Philip and Elizabeth, brought to an isolated wooded area, and pressed for information about his vehicle, route, and replacement driver. He is so terrified that he can hardly nod his head in response, or speak. After obtaining the information they need, the Jennings argue about whether or not to kill him. Philip insists on merely tying him up, and coming back later to free him. However, when the Jennings return after their mission is complete, they find he has died from exposure to the cold.
According to Lewis's Maryland driver's license, he was born November 23, 1948, and lived in Baltimore.
