Mikhail Mikhailovich "Mischa" Simonov (Russian: Михаил Михайлович Симонов) is the son of Philip Jennings and Irina Semenova and the half-brother of Paige and Henry Jennings. He was conceived in Russia before Philip joined the Directorate S program, when Philip was about 17. Philip did not learn of Mischa's existence until 20 years later. Mischa shares his father's real first name.
Mischa served in the Soviet–Afghan War with the 345th Independent Paratroop Regiment in Faizabad. ("Born Again") Critical of the war, he was held in a mental hospital until, unknown to him, Gabriel arranged for him to be released and given a job. ("Persona Non Grata")
In February 1984, he comes to the USA in an attempt to meet Philip. However Gabriel convinces him it's in everyone's best interest that he goes back home to Russia. There, he returns to his work in at a power plant and meets his paternal uncle, who takes him home with him. ("The World Council of Churches")
- The passport Mischa uses to leave Russia is fake and lists his name as "Anton Prokopenko." ("Amber Waves")
- The 345th Airborne Regiment had participated in most major operations of the conflict, including the Battle for Hill 3234, which became the basis for the script of the film The 9th Company.
