The Americans title sequence plays over the opening credits and shows various images from the United States and Soviet Union that are symbolic of both nations and their struggle against each other. The sequence in Season Three and Season Four was longer than the other seasons and showed additional images. Its first appearance is in the Season One episode "The Clock".
